    Multi-Writer CYOA* Empty Multi-Writer CYOA*

Post by Jaye 'Strike' Prower Thu Aug 18, 2011 12:21 am

I saw this idea long, long ago and thought of bringing it here. Thought the FG section was probably best.
The concept is that of a Choose Your Own Adventure book (for those unfamiliar with them, you read until you get to a choice, then you make the choice and go the appropriate page), but written by multiple authors. You read the story in the last post (I would ask you write one to four three-sentence paragraphs), and read the four options the last author posted. You pick one, list it at the top of your post, write the next one to three paragraphs based on your choice, then give four options for the next poster.
There may be some issues with some posts being finished while others are being written, but as it is I can't do anything but warn you that the first person to follow up on the story will be the only author of the next piece, other posts following a previous set of choices will be deleted so as to not stray into confusion.

I'll begin with perhaps one of my favorite types of introductions...
Everything past this line begins the story.

You wake up in what seems to be your bed. However, upon looking around you figure out this isn't your room at all. Upon looking at yourself, you realize you're not normal either...
Covering you almost in entirety is scarlet, maybe even blood-red fur! Your hands and feet are obscured by gloves and shoes, respectively. Looking behind you slightly you also see a a tail, covered in the same shade of fur and much fluffier.
Barely managing to fight a quickly rising urge to panic, you look around the room in more detail. There's a nightstand with a pocket-watch and a pitcher of what seems to be water on it, three shelves of books, a door to a small bathroom, and no readily apparent exit route. You get out of bed, pick up a book, and go to the bathroom assuming there's a mirror there.
Your assumption proves correct and you see a face barely resembling your own. Your irises are now a misty gray, seeming frighteningly deep, so you turn to the book and randomly open it. An illustration under the heading 'Anthropomorphic Red Fox' seems very, very similar to the reflection you just saw, which seems to mean you were transformed last night!

    What do you do?

    A) Give in and panic.
    B) Read more in the book.
    C) Search the bathroom.
    D) Go back to the bedroom.

    B) Read more in the book.

You look through the numerous pages of the novel you have recently found. You glance through the first three pages along with the illustration of the Anthromorphic Red Fox. The first page's title reads: Chapter 1: So, you've just become a walking, talking fox! So you have awakened, and found yourself to be a fox. DO NOT BE ALARMED! Reading this book will tell you all the things you need to kno- you stop reading, suddenly shocked by the first few lines.

It is then you hear a noise coming from the bedroom.

    What do you do?

    A) Check out the source of the noise?
    B) Read more in the book?
    C) Check out the bathroom?
    D) Panic: WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?!?

    A) Check out the source of the noise.

Walking over to the bedroom to check for the source of the noise, you notice something you hadn't before: In the headboard above the bed in a safe. Unfortunately, you have no code, and the noises stopped. Your new ears, though, tell you they probably came from outside the walls.

The nightstand has a bottle on it which you can be certain wasn't there before. It's filled with an unknown liquid but an icon label denotes it as non-toxic. Meanwhile, a more familiar noise comes from the bathroom - seems like there was a telephone in there and you didn't look around thoroughly enough to find it.

    What do you do?

    A) Go back to reading the book.
    B) Inspect the bottle further.
    C) Answer the phone.
    D) Now panic.

    C) Answer the phone.

You decide to pick up the phone, after all, it's rude to leave your phone ringing without actually being gone. You pick up the phone,

    "Hello?" You ask.

"So, you probably have some questions for me. Meet me at your local diner for further information, I can't speak over the phone. Good bye." The mysterious covered voice states.

Dumbstruck by the random call, you grip the book even tighter. You now have to make a quick decision. Do you?

    A) Read the book. Hoping to find the name of the mysterious voice person.
    B) Check out the bottle of liquid from earlier.
    C) Avoid the meeting.
    D) Go to the meeting.
